Philip Goodman was born and raised in New York City. He has spent most of his life in Dallas, where he has a distinguished career in the practice and teaching of internal medicine. Now he has embarked upon a second career in photography, which has been a lifelong hobby and passion. He has refined this new profession through the mentoring of David Newman, professor of fine arts at Brookhaven College. Fascinated with the process of printing outside of the darkroom, he manipulates filters and experiments with computerized calculations.
MADI is a great artistic adventure, and perhaps, the only existing movement which can justify half a century of existence. MADI is more than an avant-garde movement; it has an underlying wave with several and differing offspring. It is the slow-paced growth of a tectonic plate in the history of art. Indeed, since art and environment are perveived as the fusion of two cultural phenomena, the progression and expression of both of these blend in everyday life.
